**
After all regular runs are assigned (Item 1), Trippers and extra
work may be added to the regular assignment, without regard to
most hours to least, however, should there be more than one
tripper available, then the trippers will be assigned with the
regular run, most hours to least.
Operators with 8 hours of scheduled work time (operator has been
notified of the work) prior to 9:45 am shall rotate in order
with the other operators receiving 8 hours of scheduled work
time.
Operators without 8 hours of scheduled work time prior to 9:45
am shall rotate to the top of the Extra-Board in order of other
operators not receiving 8 hours of scheduled work time.
Non-transportation hours (days off, sick, birthday, holiday,
floating holiday, vacations, funeral leave, miss-outs, and
absent from work, training, ect…) Shall rotate with operators
not receiving 8 hours of work.
Rotation: Operators that are billed out of the normal sequence
of work assignments for training, meetings, etc: the
non-transportation hours will not be considered in the total
days hours. When calculating total hours worked for the day,
only transportation hours will be used. Exception: An operator
is billed with work and is relieved from the work to attend a
meeting, those hours will count for the total days hours.
If an operator is assigned a run, but an earlier run comes up
and it becomes necessary for the dispatcher to reassign this
operator with the earlier run in order that the schedules go out
on time, the dispatcher will reassigns this operator, if
necessary, to keep the operators hours and work time as near as
possible to the original hours, and work time billed. In the
event there is a difference in pay time due to such change, the
operator will receive pay equal to the run with the greater
amount of time. This includes both pre-8-hour reassignment
and/or billed standby 2ith assigned trippers.
Standbys – work assignment, first up, first out. If two work
assignments have the same report time, work will be assigned
most hours to least in order of the standbys. Should the work
assignments violate the 12-hours work or 14-hours spread
restriction, then the work will be assigned to the next
available standby. (Operator does not have the option to waive
this when there is another standby available to work the
assignment in its entirety.)
Extra-Board operators being released or completing there A.M.
assignments and are assigned known work later in the day, the
work will be assigned most hours to the least.
Pin times will not be held for extra board operators when
another extra board operator is available to perform the work.
Operators that have an assignment with a pin time the same or
within 5 minutes of the pull-in time on a preceding assignment
and will be required to change busses (artic to regular coach,
accessible to regular coach, etc.) shall not be billed the
second piece of work when another extra board operator is
available. If an operator is able to keep the same bus and
proceed on to the next assignment, this rule shall not apply.
As per contract, Extra-Board operators getting off work prior to
12 noon are require to report to the dispatcher in person or by
telephone. If an operator is required to report to dispatch
after 12 noon, minimum of 2 hours assignment will be paid.
In the event the dispatcher makes a mistake on an extra board
assignment, said operator will be paid for any loss of time, if
an equivalent number of hours in other assignments are not
available within the same day.
These guidelines shall not change the Memorandum of
Understanding of April 20, 1990
